FAQ

  • How far in advance should I book my floral design services?

If your event falls between April and October (our peak season), we recommend reaching out 9–12 months in advance. The earlier, the better—especially if your date falls on a weekend or holiday. We accept a limited number of events each season to ensure each one receives the attention and detail it deserves.

  • Where do you deliver or design for events?

Blushing Dahlia is based in Shafter, CA, and we proudly serve the Central Valley, Central Coast, and beyond. While most of our work is rooted in the Bakersfield area, we’re happy to travel for the right floral story—travel fees may apply depending on distance and scope.

  • What should I prepare before our consultation?

To help us craft a tailored proposal, it’s helpful to have the following ready for our call—but don’t worry, we’re here to help guide you through each step:

    Confirmed event date + venue

Desired color palette or tones you’re drawn to

Overall aesthetic or theme (feel free to share Pinterest boards or key words!)

Estimated number of personal flowers (bridal party + family)

Floral vision for ceremony and reception layout

  • Do you have a minimum?

Our full-service floral design minimum is $5,000 (pre-tax) for events in Kern County.

For events outside our immediate area, a travel fee may apply. For more intimate gatherings, our A La Carte collection is a beautiful, flexible alternative with no minimum required.

  • How does pricing work?

Each event is custom-designed, so we don’t offer a one-size-fits-all pricing sheet. Once we’ve chatted about your vision, we’ll create a floral proposal that balances beauty with your budget. If certain wishlist items go over budget, we’ll suggest creative alternatives to bring your vision to life.

  • How long have you been in the floral industry?

Blushing Dahlia is the result of a deep love for flowers, farming, and storytelling through nature.

After years working in event design and floral styling, I combined my passion for sustainable growing with a desire to create artful, meaningful floral experiences. I began flower farming in Shafter, CA, to cultivate unique, hard-to-find blooms that inspire my designs and reduce waste.
