Rooted in Beauty: Why We Grow Our Own Ingredients and Source Locally Whenever Possible

At Blushing Dahlia, floral design is more than a craft—it’s a connection to the earth, the seasons, and the stories behind every bloom. That’s why we’ve made a conscious decision to grow many of our own ingredients and to source local florals and greenery whenever possible. It’s a labor of love that reflects our values: sustainability, creativity, and community.

Growing with Intention

There’s something magical about planting a seed and watching it grow into a bloom that will one day be part of someone’s most cherished moment. From delicate filler flowers to unique foliage, our micro flower farm allows us to cultivate hard-to-find varieties that add texture, charm, and soul to our designs.

By growing our own, we’re able to ensure quality, reduce waste, and work in harmony with the natural rhythm of the seasons. We get to experiment with palette-perfect blooms that inspire new design ideas—often using ingredients you won’t find at a typical wholesale market.

Supporting Our Local Community

When we’re not harvesting from our own garden, we turn to our Central Valley community of flower farmers and growers. Partnering with local farms allows us to create lush, layered arrangements while minimizing our carbon footprint. We believe flowers should be fresh, responsibly sourced, and reflective of the place they come from—and we’re proud to support the hands that grow them.

A Greener Approach to Floral Design

Sourcing locally and growing in-house also helps us cut down on floral foam, packaging waste, and long-distance shipping. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to create beauty in a way that honors the planet and preserves its resources for generations to come.

The Blushing Dahlia Difference

Every bouquet, centerpiece, and floral installation we create is infused with intention—from seed to stem. Whether you’re planning a wedding, a special event, or just sending a little love, you can trust that our designs are rooted in quality, seasonality, and a deep love for the land.
